Leading Innovation Development in Panasonic Singapore

Technical leaders in Panasonic whose responsibility is driving business growth received a real innovation boost when the Innovation Institute team led by Professor Sa’ad Medhat arrived in Singapore at the end of March and delivered an innovation leadership programme to their executives. The programme ‘Innovation for Business Leaders Certificate’ was focused on building up Panasonic’s capabilities in developing their innovation strategy, managing governance in innovation, and structuring innovation portfolios for growth.

Over the two days, Panasonic’s business leaders were taken through an intensive ‘mini-MBA style’ course centred on Innovation Leadership which resulted in one of the participants stating, despite the pressures of the Programme that “it was one of the best business training sessions I have taken so far!”.

Jason Loh, Head of IP Group and Head of Strategic Planning and Business Promotion Office at Panasonic Singapore said, “This course has been a real-eye opener for us, with excellent delivery, providing great depth of understanding in many areas of innovation. The course has given our innovation process a clearer structure and we now have a better alignment of innovation to the business strategy.”

Prof Sa’ad Medhat said of the Panasonic leaders: “This has been an amazing experience. It is always rewarding to witness participants internalising and making new learning their own, but Panasonic’s business leaders have shown incredible enthusiasm and a thirst for knowledge, and it has been a pleasure to work with them.”

Panasonic are now working with the Innovation Institute on a number of new innovation developments and strategies.
